NOT Top Chef!

Chocolate Chip Cookies - Oh Yeah!

1 stick of butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
3 cups of flour
And however many chocolate chips you want, or any other chip

Add and mix ingredients in the order they appear.  Scoop onto your cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 12 minutes.  I use a cookie scooper - love it!

Since this makes about 3 dozen, I will go ahead and scoop some cookie dough balls onto a paper plate, slide into a gallon size freezer bag and freeze for the future!

It seems like as a child we were always eating pound cake.  But just not anyone's pound cake!  It was my grandmother's, Addie Mae Ault, but known to all of the grandkids after me, as "Goggie."  I hope you'll enjoy her recipe!

2 sticks of butter (softened)
1/4 cup of shortening
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of flour
2 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs (separated at room temperature)

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.  Mix butter, shortening and sugar.  Add egg yolks and vanilla.  Add flour and then egg whites.  Pour into greased or sprayed bundt pan and cook at 325 for approximately 50 minutes.
